Case Study: 3-Story Residential House BIM Project by Asbuilt3D

Image
Project Overview Asbuilt3D recently completed a detailed BIM project of a 3-story residential house , modeled with LOD 350 standards. The work was completed in 6 working days with the dedicated efforts of 3 skilled manpower . The model was prepared in inch-feet units , but Asbuilt3D is flexible and can deliver projects in any required standard. Scope of Work The project included a comprehensive BIM model covering: Architecture Structural elements MEP systems Electrical components Furniture Plumbing fixtures Topography modeling A large swimming pool within the property Execution & Workflow The point cloud data was scanned using NavVis technology . Since the point cloud was clean, our team did not face major issues during modeling. The project was executed with high precision, following international construction standards . Despite being a detailed file, the team at Asbuilt3D managed to deliver results efficiently and with accuracy. Team Performance I am proud of my team at ...

⛪ Church Modeling – Not for Beginners

Image
Some projects come as simple tasks, and some arrive as once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunities . Recently, at Asbuild3D , we had the privilege of working on one such project: the Scan to BIM modeling of a historic church . This project was not just about creating a Revit model. It was about preserving heritage, understanding Gothic architecture, and overcoming complex technical challenges . šŸ“ø The Beginning – A Church Scan The church was scanned with a FARO laser scanner , which provided us with a dense and high-quality point cloud . At first glance, the data looked clean and promising, but as always, the real challenges appear during modeling . We decided to dedicate 3 skilled manpower for this project, and it took our team 8 days to complete. Every team member was fully involved in ensuring accuracy, speed, and precision. šŸ—️ The Challenges We Faced 1. Gothic Windows The church had beautiful Gothic-style windows , each one different in detail. These weren’t simple...

In MEP projects, providing a fixed quotation is often not practical.

Image
While some jobs can be calculated in m² , in reality, even a small room can involve extensive detailing and hidden complexities. Recently, one of my valued clients shared project photos for a quotation. Upon closer review, I realized that the actual scope was much larger than it initially appeared. This highlights why it is so important to carefully analyze the project before finalizing costs. At Asbuild3D , we focus on delivering clear, transparent, and accurate quotations , based on true project requirements. šŸ“© If you also have a Scan to BIM or MEP modeling requirement , feel free to contact us: ✉️ Asbuild3d@gmail.com | Contact@asbuild3d.com 🌐 www.asbuild3d.com #BIM #ScanToBIM #PointCloudToMEP #MEP #Asbuilt

Scan to 3D Plant – Precision, Experience & Teamwork

Image
Recently, we worked on a Scan to 3D Plant project where the client required a highly detailed and accurate digital model of their plant facility. Project Requirement The client provided us with point cloud data and requested the final model in both Revit and AutoCAD (3D DWG) formats. Our Approach We assigned three skilled team members to this project. While the point cloud was generally good, there were some areas where it was not very clear. Despite these challenges, our team worked with great care and attention, modeling every element with precision. Since we have already modeled similar plants in the past, our experience helped us manage this project effectively. This made the entire workflow smooth and without major difficulties. Workflow & Tools The entire plant was modeled in Autodesk Revit , which is an excellent software for complex plant modeling. After completing the model, we converted it into 3D DWG so the client could use it in both Revit and Aut...

Scan to BIM Success Story – School Renovation Project in Greece

Image
Scan to BIM Success Story – School Renovation Project in Greece At Asbuild3D , we recently completed a challenging Scan to BIM project for a school in Greece . The client approached us with a dense point cloud scan , captured using the Leica BLK360 scanner , and requested a high-accuracy 3D model along with 2D floor plans, elevations, and sections for renovation purposes. The Client’s Challenge The client was initially concerned because the point cloud data was not properly captured in certain areas , leading to gaps and noise. Since the renovation project required very high accuracy , the client was worried about whether a reliable 3D and 2D output could be achieved from the given data. Our Approach The Asbuild3D expert team analyzed the dense point cloud carefully and developed a highly accurate 3D model . From this model, we generated detailed 2D drawings (floor plans, elevations, and sections) . Where the scan data was missing, our team cross-verified building f...

Scan to BIM for Telecommunication Towers: From Reality to Digital Model

Image
The image above shows a perfect example of how Scan to BIM technology transforms real-world infrastructure into precise, intelligent 3D models. On the right, we see the point cloud scan of a telecommunication tower—captured using laser scanning technology. On the left, the same structure has been digitally modeled into BIM (Building Information Modeling) , showing a cleaner, structured, and information-rich version. Why Scan to BIM for Towers? Telecommunication towers are complex steel structures with antennas, panels, and multiple small elements. Traditional measurement methods are: Time-consuming – requiring manual surveys. Error-prone – small mistakes can lead to costly rework. Difficult to document – because of height, location, and accessibility. With 3D laser scanning and BIM modeling , all these challenges are solved: ✅ Accurate representation of steel members, antennas, and bracings. ✅ Safe data collection from ground or drones. ✅ Easy digita...
