Scan to BIM Success Story – School Renovation Project in Greece

At Asbuild3D, we recently completed a challenging Scan to BIM project for a school in Greece. The client approached us with a dense point cloud scan, captured using the Leica BLK360 scanner, and requested a high-accuracy 3D model along with 2D floor plans, elevations, and sections for renovation purposes.

The Client’s Challenge

The client was initially concerned because the point cloud data was not properly captured in certain areas, leading to gaps and noise. Since the renovation project required very high accuracy, the client was worried about whether a reliable 3D and 2D output could be achieved from the given data.

Our Approach

The Asbuild3D expert team analyzed the dense point cloud carefully and developed a highly accurate 3D model. From this model, we generated detailed 2D drawings (floor plans, elevations, and sections).

  • Where the scan data was missing, our team cross-verified building features with Google Earth references to ensure accuracy.

  • The entire project was completed within 7 working days by our skilled Scan to BIM specialists.

The Result

When we delivered the final 3D model and 2D drawings, the client was extremely satisfied with the precision and detailing of our work. Despite the challenges with the point cloud, our experienced team ensured a seamless and accurate output, making the renovation process much easier for the client.
